Europe, with its environmental policy, has paved the way in seeking environmentally friendly development, responsible use of available resources and maintaining a pace of progress that makes it an example for the rest of the world. The Government of Colombia recognizes the potential of the resources it has throughout its territory to bring clean energy to Colombian territory. This is what Law 1715 of 2014 says about this type of energy, which states that “The State shall develop strategies for the use of renewable resources for sustainable economic development, reduction of greenhouse gas emissions and security of energy supply.”
